Latika Stud

Latika Stud began many years ago, initially with the intention of breeding Arabian Riding Ponies, however with the very sad loss of my colt, Krystelle Park Providence, I took a break from horses, and in 2005 I had a change of direction.

I began my journey towards breeding miniatures when I made the decision to purchase YP Major Flashbacks Sabaar as a weanling in 2004 from Yantaringa Park in South Australia.

I took Sabaar to his first show as a yearling late 2004, and it was there that the Mini Bug really hit me. We came home that day with Champion Open Pony and Top 5 Supreme Pony of Show, and plenty of positive feedback which blew me away. I was hooked!

In 2006 I decided having only one miniature just wasn’t enough, and began my search for a suitable mare to compliment my boy. After a long search I finally found Rainbow Park Temptress early 2007. Since then I have been slowly building my herd with the purchase of Unique Park Buckaroo’s Sleeping Lullaby.

While waiting for my young girls to come of age, Sabaar has been standing at public stud, with his first foal recently being awarded Supreme Miniature Horse, suitably proving Sabaar’s ability to sire champions.

While the miniatures are now spending their days enjoying their stud duties, I intend to reintroduce my Arabian Pony mare, Krystelle Park Kaaees to the show ring for 2009.

Resident stallion, YP Major Flashbacks Sabaar has 100% USA bloodlines, including Rowdy, two crosses to FWF Little Blue Boy, four crosses to Del Teras Buttons, the sire of the legendary stallion, Orion Light Vant Huttenest and more.

Rainbow Park Temptress has a pedigree that includes the notorious Coat O Chrome, I have high hopes for her progeny with both Sabaar and carefully selected outside stallions. 

Carrying Smithdeals Ima Pepper II, who of course goes back to the infamous Rowdy, Bonds Peppy Power and Bond Showboy, Unique Park Buckaroo's Sleeping Lullaby, on the top side, also carries some well known names, such as Boones Little Buckaroo and 2 crosses to Komokos Little King Supreme.
